Keeps dying with new cold air intake

Brother I swapped the calibrated 30 lb maf to the new pro m and it won’t run right

Are you saying that you took the sensor itself out of one housing and put it into a Pro M housing?

Or are you saying that you put the entire MAF housing (the one you have been using and has worked well) and attached it to a different cold air kit?

Once you remove the sensor from the housing it was in, you've completely changed the transfer function of that sensor. (in other words: No juju)

He pulled the MAF element out of the first setup and put it in the Pro-M housing.

If things on a 302 then just put the MAF housing and element that was in the BBK setup back in.

I have a 80mm MAF on my 331 and am not running out of air. I would bet your setup is not making the hp mine is (460ish fwhp) so the Pro-M unit is not necessary.

That’s what I did I figured a bigger one would look cool but I guess it’s meant for more horse power. And yea it’s a stock 302 with all bolt ons dosent make hp like your at all. I guess I’m gonna have to sell it or hold on to it till I get another engine

If you're going to buy another Mass Air Meter, plan the whole thing out. Not just the meter.

That CAI looks a bit anorexic for that intake. IMO, it's not a good combo.

I'm going to leave this here:

I believe that the one that I listed fits the C&L that you already have and get the filter out of the engine bay.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems you are trying to accommodate that CAI. Is there a reason for this?
And... It's the black one that you're trying to install. Is this correct? I ask because the aluminum piece looks a lot more robust.

No I have had the black one for years and I wanted to change things up my friend gave it to me he had it on a holly sytemax intake I even thought changing the throttle would work. The one this pro m came off of was a acufab I believe

Did you try clocking the meter as it is while just swapping the c&l cast intake tube? Those fender mount elbows love to act funny in front of a Maf until adaptive adjusts the idle strategy. Only difference with the c&l elbow replacing the one black section of pipe will be a bit more turbulence do to the larger casting at the throttle body if you don't get a reducer coupling, there like $6 on fleabay. The black bbk pipe is 3"OD , c&l cast elbow is 76mm ID. 3" 16ga pipe is like 72-3mm ID so its a smoother transition at both the maf and t-body side with the old c&l 73mm maf housing.. Double check no one drilled the boss on the cast elbow for a nitrous nozzle too that would be a giant air leak.

The c&l 76mm kit, that elbow pipe, and a c&l 76mm housing was designed for the stock air box, my old stock 3Olb kit has a purple sample tube. Pretty sure you have an old 73mm c&l housing though. I can dig mine out when I get some time to Mic them, pretty sure I have a a couple 73mm housings for 19-30lbs along with nos 76mm kits for 24 & 30lbs .

Sell the pro- m Maf and c&l elbow separately if you go that route, they where never meant to work with each other and probably get more from them that way.

I got this pro m cold air intake and switched out the maf sensor with the one I had on my bbk but when I did that car dies unless holding gas. Can it be that the throttle is a 70 mm too small for it? Do I need to adjust fuel pressure or do I need to upgrade and get a bigger throttle? I used a smaller blue rubber seal thing inside the other to make up for the space
Is the new Pro-M matched with the injectors? They should be the same.
