Well as some of you know I just completed the install of my 9psi intercooled Kenne Bell kit on my 01' GT last weekend. After the initial test drive I had some detenation issues at WOT. To make a long story short, I finally got the chance to call KB today to ask them what we needed to do to fix the problem. I was placed in the hands of Ken, their programmer. THIS GUY IS AWESOME!!! He talked to me about every possible senerio that could be the cause. After about an hour on the phone we decided that I needed a new chip with some retarded timing in different areas of the RPM range. They are sending me a new chip for FREE and even paying for the shipping of the old chip back to them. The only bad thing was trying to get thru without getting a busy signal, but with some patience it can be done. So in closing, I just want to say thank you to KB for the GREAT tech support and customer service. If you are even thinking of going forced induction, PLEASE give them a call.

yeah there's no question that they are dedicated to their customers. it's a shame that only a few companies out there go above and beyond the avg consumer's expectations to ensure repeat business.

as for their superchargers, i'm still see sawing back and fourth between a kb or a turbo from cobrakiller. too far in the future to know for sure though.

I agree 100%. Ken has been very responsive to my e-mails. I e-mailed him today with my KB updated dyno numbers and he agreed to send me a new chip with a new calibration for RACE ONLY at no cost! We have been thru a process of tunin my car for the last two months. If I were to get another supercharger in the future, without doubt it would be a Kenne Bell. Outstanding customer service!

I finished the install on Wednesday. I used your technique to prime the pump and it worked great! I was able to drive around athat night and I didn't have any problems. I got 9# of boost with no detonation. I'm just so glad that I didn't have any problems once it started up. Ken wants me to give him my dyno numbers once I'm done so he can take a look at it to make sure I'm getting what I paid for. What really sucks though is that is has been snowing here since thursday morning so I still can't drive it yet. I should be out and burning rubber tomorrow.

I'm hoping for a miracle and I get as close to 450rwhp as possible with a 94 octane tune I can't wait so I can hang with these modified 03 Cobras running around down here.

To achieve that level of HP you will have to increase boost. Do you have forged internals? I have been talking to Ken about this same issue. I asked him about the highest boost level that I could run on my engine given that it is fairly easy for me to get 93 octane at the pump. He said that for the 4.6 engine we need to figure about 1.5 octane for each psi of boost over 9 psi. So, if 91 octane will work on 9 psi, and I have 93 octane, I could increase boost by 1.3 psi, that is, up to 10.3 psi (93-91 = 2 octane difference; 2 octane/1.5 octance per psi = 1.3 psi; 9 psi + 1.3 psi = 10.3 psi). Therofore, in your case, with 94 octane I'm pretty sure you could run 11 psi of boost. But don't take this for granted. Talk to Ken first. Also, consider getting their switch chip as the shootout mode shold help you reach 450+ at 11 psi.
