My car (2001 Cobra) is at Kenny Brown right now.
I am having at least:
1) Jacking Rails
2) Extreme Matrix brace
Installed.
I was told it had KB sub frames on it, steeda springs, KB rear shock tower brace, and KB front strut brace.
I had M&M caster camber plates put on and a pro 5.0 shifter installed as well.
The guy at KB looked at my strut brace and said its either an old design or looks like one used on the 98 cobras. Mine does not go over the strut location but mounts to the metal body area (the hump like thing) on the outside of the strut area. It mounts to the firewall as well. If that makes sense to anyone?
My question is this, what else should I have them install?
1) Should I have a new strut bar put on so its the one that goes under my caster camber plates? May have to align car since the CC plates will have to come off?
2) Rear Steer Kit? Costs a lot since they have to align the car again.
3) IRS brace with aluminum bushings
4) Lower front support brace, mounts to the K-member and frame rails I think.
5) Anything else suspension wise?
Do you guys know if the SVTOA discount is off of everything they do KB product or not? I.E. if I have them do some exhaust work etc?
Couple of other things I was thinking about:
1) Auto Meter shift light
2) SLP Loud Mouth Catback
Then later down the road a full triple pod of autometer gauges, x-pipe, 4.30 gears, diablo sport predator, and eventually nitrous .
Anyways the above should pretty much included everything I would want to get done suspension wise I think....any thoughts?
I think the above would be running in the 2k range but would help keep wheel hop away and make the frame stiff as can be to keep creaks and groans away later and reduce flex with the 4.30s down the line.
2k and a 15% discoun t for SVTOA would be like 300 bucks off so it would bring it back down to 1700ish I think.
That would be the suspension items, shift light (depending on price) and catback (depending on price). The other stuff would be later and cost more obviously.
Let me know what you think.
