Kevin MacDonald's 11.76 2001 Lightning

Del Pino Motorsports Kevin MacDonalds Street 2001 Lightning is an understatement. Not bad considering it won World Ford Challenge and on top of that it towed the trailer home. It even ran quicker than ever, It made 8, 11 second passes over the weekend with a new best time of 11.76@115mph on the stock engine and transmission. There's definitely better times in it as it's nearly 150 lbs heavier than It normally runs at. Looks like It might have to bump up to Pro Lightning next year if It keep getting faster!

Lightnings are cool. I'm not taking anything away from that particular one but 11.70's is not that fast for a Whipple powered L. The fact that it went 11.76 and towed a trailer to the track is pretty cool. A stock truck making 14lbs of boost with nothing but the Whipple should do that. Still, it's impressive to see something that big go that fast!
