Okay first off I keep my keys light. I only have the car keys with alarm fob and my two home keys.

So I turn the car off today and I can't get the key out. It still rotates to on and off luckily but I cannot get it to come out. No matter how much jiggling. I noticed too the entire lock cylinder seems wobbly. I never installed an after market alarm so this column has never been messed with.

So now I have to take it in to the dealer, which I hate doing. But unless there is some simple in the driveway fix that's my only option.

:\

Is there an emergency release for the automatics? I think I remember reading something about it. Have you looked in your owners manual? Did you try going back in to neutral a few times?

You know that was the one thing I didn't try. Making sure the neutral switch in the center console wasn't acting up.

Thanks, I'll try that next. Maybe it didn't *click* all the way in to PARK.

I have had the same problem. You kind of have to push in on the entire switch and turn it slightly to get the key out.
That probably doesn't help much.

Great more fords with bad IGN locks, I figured they would have learned after the whole focus lock ordeal.

Yup, it was that the shifter needed to be put in to PARK...again...for some reason.

At least it isn't causing the cars to burst in to flames like in the 80s...yet anyways.
