If you have little skills, go aftermarket. It's not too bad to install. I used Avital 2101L. Has remote start but I do not use it, just use it for remote keyless entry and also the remote keyless hatchback unlock which is nice when your hands are full of groceries...er, I mean parts from the junkyard.
My friend (2.3 turbo junkie) put a 90's Thunderbird module in his 91 mustang. Module, antenna, most everything, and the remotes are factory Ford remotes, look identical to dealer installed Mustang RKE remotes (I don't believe Mustangs to 94 had RKE). It works, BUT the downside is the range; he's got to be within about 75 foot of the car for it to work; similar to my F250, gotta be 10 foot away from it (and I hate that). The aftermarket 2101L I have? So far I have walked to the neighbor's house and it has worked flawlessly-about 1/2 mile away. Plenty far enough for me. I also did not hook the horn to the unit. Theft is not a huge issue here (as of right now) and secondly since 90% of Americans can't drive a manual, that acts as a theft deterrent in itself, at least I like to think so.
The 2101 is kind of an "old" technology RKE unit, with hundreds of thousands of them sold, to my knowledge VERY few failures. It is a universal kit so it'll fit whatever, as long as you have power door locks. You're gonna need relays, BUT there are a thousand diagrams online that outline how to install it/them. IIRC there is also a relay module available that houses the relays all in one box-but I haven't looked into it in a while.
