Apparently my ex-husband made that mistake.

Anyone ever have one of these go bad? My car blew fuse #8 the other day, and I've got everything in the car apart to disconnect every single item. I've pretty much got everything out except for the door handle sensors, and it as soon as I plug in one of the harnesses to the keyless entry module, it pops the fuse.

My keyless entry module seems to draw a steady amount of current. Enough that it will drain battery in about 30 days if you don't run the engine or drive the car regularly. If I disconnect the KEM and alarm modules (left side trunk panel) the battery will not lose energy for months.

Or just get a battery tender so you don't wear out the plugs and have to keep taking your trunk apart.

I just make an effort to drive the car weekly, then I have no low battery issues. I just wonder why my modules draw down the battery relatively quickly. I need to measure the current draw so I have a value to reference. Then I could calculate how long the battery should last without a charge cycle.
