just bought a 2004 GT cant find out what the code is for the touchpad on the door was told to look in the trunck cant find it

Check the owner's manual. I think it tells you how it can be reset (but that was on a '93 T-bird). You might check with a local dealership as well.

I'm sure someone else will chime in.

not in manual dosnt even say any thing about the touch pad just the remote on keys

Most of those were dealer installed after purchase. I was thinking the prior owner would have potentially written the code down in the owner's manual--but hey, that would be convenient.

My suggestion would be call the company that makes the keypads, and find out if there's any way to reset it. I doubt it, as if this were possible, it would make car thieves job much simpler. If getting a hold of the owner is out of the question, and you really want that sort of keyless entry, take them off and buy new ones. JCWhitney, AutoZone, are just a few places I can think of that sell them.

I am still wondering if it's a Ford unit. A dealership should be able to tell you if it's their piece or not and how to fix it, if so.

Its most likely a dealer accessory. Go to a local dealer and see if they can assist you. If you are friendly and they are a decent dealership they will most liekly help you.
