kia wants to race

a friend is always talkin **** about my 105hp, but he only has a kia spectra, he says he can beat me, but i doubt it. we are both automatics. who do think would win? id love to race him from a roll but that probably wont happen.

also how do you shift an automatic? is it 1-2-D or just 1-D??

BTW his is a 4 door stock (not sure on year)
and i have a 91 coupe, stock with removed intake silencer

Yup, start in 1, shift to 2 for 2nd, D for 3rd and OD is 4th but don't use it for racing or it will blow up.

To be honest, i think he's got you. I've ridden in a Spectra before. It's slow but not that slow. It would have definitely beat my 1990 2.3L with 88HP. You have a little more power so hard to tell.

WHat i would do is find a 5.0 that looks exactly like your car. Hide your car at the finish line. Race him, blow his doors off, and when you get to the end switch cars real fast and then pop the hood and say "see....it's only a little N/A 2.3L !

Thats kind of exspensive...id just slap nitrous on it...or the cheaper route...tell you him " I dont race soccer moms"

if i got a nitrous system for my n/a would it directly transfer over to a 2.3T when i get the swap?

Yup! if you go nitrous go with a "wet" fogger kit (basicly its universal...and safer than a dry setup). my Nitrous Works kit is moving from my n/a to turbo motor as we speak

Spectra can't be too much faster than a Toyota Avalon. I kick on of thoses @sses, it was stock. Really though KIA's are a joke.

The spectra specs at 17.2 sec in the 1/4. Your auto 2.3 wont do that.

Get a few hundred bux and buy one of those 30-75hp nitrous kits off ebay and F*** him up These kits use a 1.5 - 5lb bottle that is easier to hide from people than the 10lb bottles. Then when you go turbo stick it on the turbo motor to help with turbo lag

1) Go down to my local HotRod dealer and buy a nitrous kit.

2) Get a friend to order a kit for me.

3) look through the Thifty Nickel.

4) steal one
