Is there anyone who can explain why i have too much slack cable on kick down to be effective, can't see why.
According to the manual it says turn cable at gearbox end counter clockwise, but can't see how. Cable at throttle end is fully adjusted.
1968 Mustang auto.

Trying to picture it in my head. The only adjustment I remember is at the throttle rod where you twist the doohickie to adjust. If this is adjusted all the way and it still doesn't pull the kickdown lever, the throttle rod must move forward. That adjustment would seem to be in the engine compartment: you would need the linkage to be farther back at the back of the intake. Check at the pivot and carb. to look for an adjustment point, (you will probably need to readjust at the carb. to get full throttle,etc...). There is also a measurement in the Ford manual for pedal height and this probably relates to your issue.
Sorry I don't have my manual handy to be more precise.
