kick down lever

hey guys can i make a kick down lever for the trany i can buy the cable but the lever can't be found anywere just woundering if anyone has made one or not or what else to do ??

the lever you speak of.....isnt that just the one attached to your gas pedal?

yes, it is, but i strongly suggest looking in a junk yard for a 66, they changed the kickdown that year to one that doesnt bend the accelerator linkage...it bolts to the intake manifold.

Bend the accelerator linkage? I don't see how...

Cobain03, I'm sure you could get one fabricated. You'd only need to weld a bracket to come off the pedal rod and machine it to accept the kickdown cable. It would be good to have a good one to work from, so you could get the proper dimensions.

yeah it hooks to the acc. pedal under the hood hangs down i guess 7 to 8 inches then the cables hooks to that mine is a 65 you said they changed them in 66 ???
