its a 93 4 cly a4ld.the cable going from the trans to the throttle is sticking down in the trans,it only moves i tiny bit.its making the throttle only open 1/4 the way.i unhooked the cable and the car has power now,but i was afraid that driving with the cable unhooked would damage something.does this cable contol line pressur or just kickdown?can i just leave it unhooked without damaging the trans?how hard is this to fix?is it just something hanging up in the valve body?help, ive search here and snap-on demand service manual and cant find any info about the throttle cable.

No, the kickdown cable on the A4ld does not control line pressure. You wold be fine running with te kick down cable disconnected, and you would simply loose the kickdown at WOT.
This is different from the AOD behind the 3.8 and 5.0. The AOD use the kick down cable to control line pressure.
