I have a 1970 Mach1 without a kickdown. The carb has been replaced with a 4 brl holley and does not have a connecting point. I have a kickdown rod but am not sure what to do. The engine is a 351C and the transmission is an FMX automatic. Should I buy a kickdown cable kit, change the carb or just let it be? Do they even make a cable kit for this configuration? Thanks!!

There's only one sensible way. It'll cost you $25.

Getting the throttle blades off and on is a pain, but that kit works well. I had a similar situation with my 69, and only had to use a longer, 1/4 inch bolt to adjust the kickdown range. THe kickdown is good for driveability, but really a necessity....You could get by with out it, just by working the floor shifter manually..
