I bought an 89 mustang GT that was t-boned for a doner car(now stripped). I also got a 86 GT in with the deal, and I paid $350 buck for the pair. The 86 was not running when I got it, but after messing with the fuel pump and neutral safety switch I had it running pretty good. The car has a crushed cowl, missing hood, pretty dirty interior, surface rust in the engine bay and many other cosmetic defects. Now on the the rest of the story. I was bidding on an 87 GT rolling chassis on ebay that was down in tx. that had just been painted jalapeno green, and came with a sn95 rear end with 3.73 and a girdle. I lost the bid. well about a 2 weeks ago I saw it on ebay again and I hit up the guy to trade for the 86. Turns out he's in dire need of a running car. So we traded. He got the 86 and a spare 8.8 that I had laying around for his other stang. I got the 87 w/new paint, 3.73 gears,rearend girdle, rear disc brakes w/5lug, aluminum driveshaft, New custom cowl cover, New 4" cowl hood, new hi-miler radiator hose set, new police service battery cable set, x-pipe for longtubes, 2 borla mufflers and some underdrive pully's. Oh and the car also had a mass air harness and cobra computer with it. So do you think the deal was fair? did I get ripped? or did I get a hell of a deal. The 86 was in pretty bad shape. I think I made back the 350 bucks I had in the two cars just in parts off the doner, so in my opinion me getting the 86 in the first place was just a bonus.
