well ive been looking for a set of valve covers but i wasnt willing to spend big bucks to get a set. so i saw the trickflow ones that summit had on sale. so i ordered them, not thinking at all. i get them and they are what i ordered but they look like they are stock height. the only reason i got them was because they had baffles...which i need for my pcv and breather. but on my stock valve covers i had to take the baffle out for the 1.7 rockers to clear. i guess im just gonna have to try it and see if they work. it not ill just have to cut the baffles out and get a baffled grommet (which isnt what i want). :bang:

Hey - sorry to ask a tech question in your rant post, but....

I'm looking for valve covers that will clear 1.7 RR's as well. I have TFS TW heads and a Cobra intake with a 1/2" spacer that I need to clear. What have you been looking at that you think will work? I was thinking of the Ford Racing cast black wrinkle style for non-efi cars, but I'm not sure.

moroso sells a set of valve covers that will work for my setup. im not sure if they will fit under the cobra intake.....but with the spacer it should. youd have to plug one of the openings in the valve cover.

The trickflow cast valve covers do not have a baffle...nor do they have provisions for them. They also do not come drilled for breathers/fill tubes. With that said, they clear my 1.7 trick flow rr's with ease...and I epoxied some mountain dew baffles which work great. They should also have no issues clearing any type of intake...assuming it's stock height or greater.
