I have a KC in mine, and still retained the stock cable, but my cable started to bind and not work good, so I recently bought a Granetelli adj. cable, quadrant, and firewall adj.
If you are going through the trouble of changing the cable, you might as well change the quadrant and FWA, and get all the pain and suffering over at one time.
