I am thinking of getting a pair of the Kirkey Economy Drag Seats #16000 these instead of the Summit/Jegs seats. Or are the Summit/Jegs plastic seats better? How are the padded seat covers? Any pics anyone?

*note* Comfort isn't very important, this is a street/strip car.

Something about the Kirkey's just screams HARDCORE to the letter. I was watching tv and that comercial came on where JesseJames from moster garage was sitting in this old lincoln with the motor comming out of the hood and slicks in back, just shaking away and the seats seemed to top it all off and there were the alumimum kirkey kind. The summit/Jegs seats just look cheap and crappy. Most profesional cars have the alumimum seats anyways, so the pro's know something.

Do seats like that have to be bolted to a roll cage? I read that somewhere.

Yes.

Just go on the NHRA web site and look for yourself.

Well, I went and looked at both Kirkey's drags, the economy and pro series. As far as weight goes, they are really light. The difference is about $40 and I would imaging the pro's would do better in an all out dragster but for a car I think the economy's will definatly do. With seat covers and two seats it will run about $300 for both. Then I have to figure out some brackets. I am not sure what I want to do again.
