Know a place near north Jersey that can do this?

I was thinking i wanted to bore out my GT block this summer, maybe in August or September when i get the cash. What is a place near me in north Jersey that can bore the engine out?

How much would it cost?

I'd probably install forged internals too, think i should stroke her while I'm at it?

How much do you think boring, stroking w/ forged internals would cost? parts and labor? I would do the labor myself, but i can't bore it out, so i might as well just have a shop bore and stroke it and install everything while they are at it.

What do you think is the max they could safely bore out my 281 to? make it a nice 302? More? less?

What kind of gains do you think i'd be seeing?

I'm thinking about calling LaRocca's down in Englishtown this summer to see if they can do it, im sure they can. but not sure.

I think the most you can bore an iron block is .030 over and thats like 284-285 CI i think. If you want to bore more you need an aluminum block and then it would need to be re-sleeved.

In the end your prolly gonna find your better off just buying a built block. I priced it out and I think it was a difference of 100 bucks between buying one built and having a shop do it, and itll be done buy real experts.

Steeda is correct, just pickup a built shortblock from someone like VT. It may cost a little more, but will be much easier to deal with.

Laroccas did a lot of work on my GT, good people. Small shop and sometimes things get real backed up.

I am dealing with that problem right now. I took my car to the best Mustang builder in my area. he has a small shop but everyone uses him. taking forever to get my car back,.. but everyone is scared of it and it hasnt even been on the street yet

Oh well I just hope it is worth the wait
