Know Any Tricks for Removing Spark Plug in a Tight Spot?

My header mount is so close to the rear driver's side plug that even a thin-walled socket won't work. I'll likely have my mechanic grind the mount to make room, but anyone know of any tricks in the meantime? I think it is my misfiring cylinder and I want to get it out to see asap - and I don't have a grinder. There is plenty of room around the motor there...

You definitely need to remove some of the header flange, it should not be blocking the #8 plug, which normally is one of the easiest to get to. A few seconds with a die grinder would do it.
