So if you use the Fox inner tie rods you have to use Fox outer tie rods. SN95 = metric and Fox = SAE.

I have SN95 racks on my Foxes and have Fox inner and outer tie rods.
Interesting, MM suggests using Fox inner tie rods if you run stock Fox control arms (which I am). I guess I was confused because I thought I’m currently running SN95 outer tie rods on my stock Fox setup. Swear there was a discussion about this back a few pages in my thread.

So I need Fox outer tie rods and I guess spacers because I’m running 94/95 spindles? Or am I confusing all this with ball joints?

If I do need Fox outer tie rods that may be no big deal I believe I already have 2 I ordered a while back. Just would need to return the SN95’s

Edit: sweet, I was right. I did buy some Fox outer tie rods a while back:

And cancelled the SN95 outers on my order.

And on another good note, I swapped my EGR sensor with another one and ran KOEO to see if it would clear my code 34:

Fingers crossed it works for KOER.

I had bought a sensor unknowing that the PO had a spare ‘standard brand’ sensor in a box full of stuff he had in the back when he sold me the car so thankfully I didn’t have to buy another sensor just to test it out.
 
If you run the SN95 control arms then you will need SN95 inners and outers due to the added length of the SN95 lower control arm. They are both metric threads.

If you run Fox length control arms the you will need Fox inners and outers and they have SAE threads.

I believe you can run the SN95 inners and Taurus outers but I don’t remember what year.

 
I won’t be running SN95 control arms. If I were to ‘upgrade’ my control arms I would go MM’s with the coilovers.

So to recap I have:

- SPR-ZK steering rack (ordered for a 2004 GT but I think it’s the same for like all 94-04 mustangs)
- Fox outer tie rods
- Fox inner tie rods
- urethane rack bushings
- Motorcraft (reman) PS pump
- new high/low pressure lines

Anything else I’m missing besides the MM hybrid steering shaft and fluid? I have the pulley puller tool to swap the pulley from my old pump to the new pump too.

I read MM’s page on this upgrade… just must have missed the outer tie rod thing, think I was confusing ball joints with outer rods.

Started measuring and mapping out the race louvers. These are as far forward as I could go per the directions:

They can go back as far as the black line (if you can see it) on the windshield side of my tape is. The directions just say there is a “sweet spot” for the lovers to be in, not an exact measurement. For maximum cooling capability any opinions on if they should be forward or rearward? Or since they are in the “sweet spot”, just preference at this point?
 
Ok second question. Directions say you can adjust the sweet spot 16-20” from the base of the windshield, my black line is at 20”… so I could really go 4 more inches towards the rear. Should I? Like is the thought go as far rearward (toward the windshield) as possible?

Probably splitting hairs here but if I’m cutting into the hood I’d like to get it as ‘right’ as possible.
 
Ok great. Not sure what looks best yet I’ll have to place them in different locations and stand far back and just see. I’m mostly doing this for cooling and looks (since I have to repaint my hood anyways) so I’m probably overthinking it.
 
Lately reading doesn’t seem to be my strong suit. Directions say for side hood louvers start at most 6” behind the back of the radiator for “maximum efficiency” even if they don’t go to the windshield measurements, so I guess that settles where they need to go.
 
If your goal is radiator airflow then that actually makes sense for 2 reasons, 1. reducing the pressure right behind it will improve airflow through it the most, and 2. the air at the cowl/ base of the windshield is high pressure.

One of the main culprits of engine coolant temp issues foxes have is due to a lack of airflow through the radiator stemming from removal of the front airdam on the core support below the radiator. It's job is not to direct flow into the radiator, but to reduce the pressure behind the radiator.

Was considering a splitter for one of my cars and came across this picture. Looks a little further back to me than your instructions. Looks good though:

I don't think I like the splitter enough and likely to scar it up on something.

Don’t get me wrong I’m not racing this car and looking for like a ton of cooling additions. My hood paint is fubar’d so I need it painted, I have the supercharger which generates more heat so I just figured before painting my hood if I’m gonna add some louvers for additional cooling/looks now would be the time. With that said, if im going through the trouble of buying the louvers and cutting up my hood i want to at least do it the best I can to achieve those goals.

Appreciate the feedback. I’ll play with the louvers placement and post some photos for opinions.
