Is there a noticeable difference between the KYB and Tokico shocks/struts? Does anyone know if they both essentially perform the same?

Im looking for overall DD ride comfort improvement.

I ran KYB's with Vogtland springs (which are stiffer than Eibach Pro's and H&R's Sport). They were smooth and all I could ask for with a car that I DD'ed everywhere and racked up the miles. Now, with DSpecs and Super Sport's my car is much stiffer anywhere I'm driving it. The KYB's are an inexpensive and good for the lower spring rates in those Sport springs.

Honestly I think Tokico makes a better product. If you are on a budget or just don't want to spend to much get some blues. If you are willing to spend a little more I would get some illuminas and call it a day. The offer 5 different settings so you could turn them down to 1 0r 2 for your daily commute and then turn them up to 4 or 5 if you wanted to go have some fun on a twisty road. I beleive they are only $80 more then the blues too.

I don't know about the KYBs, but I have the Tokico Blues. They ride the same as stock. No improvement IMO. I did blow the drivers side front one out as well. I'm on H&R SS springs.

Ugh, thats just what I wanted to hear

I'll put it this way.....I currently have Eibach sportline vert springs and the ride is HORRIBLE. I feel every single tiny little bump in the road. What shock/strut should I run to IMPROVE the ride quality?

BTW, my car only has about 80K on it and I really dont think the stock shocks/struts are shot. They just dont pair well together on a car thats lowered so much.

I NEED TO IMPROVE THE RIDE WITHOUT BREAKING THE BANK!

I went with Eibach Pro Dampers. They are engineered to go with Eibach springs. I'm happy with them. They are firm without being too stiff. American Muscle has them for about $400.

They are designed to pair with the pro-kit springs, not the sportlines. There's a big difference in ride height.
