i heard some BBK LTs fit. not too sure. nothing wrong with my MAC's on my auto...i've had them for around a year, and they knocked off .3 at the track as soon as i got o2 sensor extensions.

Other then that MAC crap. Worthless junk. I like the Kooks and the Hookers but they are so expensive. Is there a cheaper alternative?

SLP (www.slponline.com) makes Long tube headers for your car...but they too are expensive. SHM makes one as well, but again, expensive. The BBK Long Tube according to BBK literature will not fit...not sure why. I understand that Hedman Hedders make's an affordable Long Tube header for cars with automatics, but I have as yet to find any on the internet. I am also in search of an affordable Long Tube header for a Mustang with automatic...let me know if you find some! :D

For fitment your best bet is the hooker headers for our cars...flowtech makes identical headers (same company) and sells them for about half price. Not sure of the part # though.

I asked my mechanic about the Flowtech and he said they were junk. Not sure why he said that though. In my experience stuff is usually really cheap for a reason.

With the Hookers anyone know the part number for them? Autozone has Hooker L/T's for $400 but it says year 98 only...kinda weird. Might be a misprint.

Ok let me get this straight a mechanic gives you advice but no explanation behind the advice? Mechanics for the most part know little more than the guy on the street. They just do what they are told to do. Unless its a lead mechanic with certifications etc. i would pay little attention to his advice.

The flowtech headers are identical to the hookers...they are both made by the same company. The flowtech name is obviously not as good as hookers and therefore they price them much less than the hookers.

Go ahead and waste your 2-300 on name brand headers...

i'm not trying to fight you on this at all...just saying what he said. And yeah it is kinda weird he never told me why.

has anyone actually used these headers yet? I'd be cool to hear an opinion from someone who has used them personaly.

well it looks like the flowtechs are pos'. Guess my mechanic was right. Guess i will be shelling out some more dough for brand name headers. You do get what you pay for.

Dunno where this came from but its up to you. If you wanna throw a few hundred dollar bills out the door then go right ahead.

Hold up, I asked Tim and the crew over on his forum and Michael Kidd told me he used to sell these headers a couple years ago and they came back cracked/shattered about half the time. Be very careful if you do order them, but he told me straight up that he would never put them on his car.. :flag: Good luck either way.

i was just about to say this not to mention he said they were not the same design yet many people think they are since its owned by the same company but they are not i also recall that hookers are notorious for leaks as are the flowtechs

that's where i'm getting it from.

No L/T's will pass a sniffer test.

MAC seems to trash to me. I attempted to purchase their L/T's twice... fisrst said had missed welds and the second set had cracked welds stright out of the box. My current MAC O/R X-pipe will not seal up for more then a month. As far as I am concerned MAC makes garbage for the exhaust end of things.

And I know BBK's will not fit around the tranny.
