i have loss of power i took to a shop they said it need a mass air sensor. in which they had to bypass the sensor. to find. how do you do that? it seemed to be fixed butt alittle later after i left the shop it was back to the loss of power.i took it back to the shop again. and they said it needed new cats i put a whole exhaust on it with no cats. that didn't fix the problem. i have replaced the air charge sensor and the O2 sensors. any ideals what look at nexy

why not try having your codes pulled--you can either do it yourself ala-McGuyver or with a scan tool (obd-1), or have Advance/Autozone pull them for you for free.

that'd probably be the easiest place to start.

also, might wanna check for exhaust and vaccum leaks, clean out your MAF and TPS, IAC, check spark plugs, wires, cap & rotor.

that's all i can think of for now..

I was plagued by the same problem. I changed my plugs, wires, cleaned the throttle body... I pulled the MAF on sunday, took it apart carefully and cleaned the little wires in the MAF sensor with MAF sensor cleaner and q-tips. Popped a new air filter on the end of the cold air kit, and damn does it have way more power than it did before! My MAF sensor had black film on the little wires, and with that gone, the car is amazing! I had sprayed in the MAF meter before, but that barely did anything. It wasnt until I actually took it apart and made it look new that the car woke up from the dead...:nice:

I'd consider a new shop.

Paul's right-on about codes.

You would want to view PIDs while the car acts up - this should allow one to see what's going on.

Do you have an AODE?

Welcome to the boards and good luck.
