Lakewood bell: what size flywheel?

I just need a quick answer or two. I'm about to order an aluminum 157 tooth flywheel for my 302. I plan on using a Lakewood bellhousing, but I dont know which flywheel size they are designed for(157 or 164).

Can anyone tell me which size the bellhousing is for, or if they have two starter mounting patterns? I dont want to spend $300 now and be S.O.L. later.

they should have 2 starter mounting patterns so it should work for both..... at least my McLeod SFI bell does.

I had model 15200 and it is set up for either flywheel. No mods will be needed for your 157 tooth model.

I guess thats good because I decided to just grit my teeth and buy the 157 since it was on sale. Now I have my eye on a used Lakewood . Thanks everyone.

Before you buy, look at the starter area and make sure it still is set up for a 157. There is a moon-shaped tab that is removed when an 11" clutch is used. This tab adds support for your starter.

I really don't know if it would be a problem or not. . . .

It doesnt look like its been altered. Lakewoods are so dang beefy anyway that it probably wouldnt make a big difference.

Damn, I have a used aluminum 164 tooth flywheel and a Lakewood I would have sold you for half of new. Not sure what tranny you'll be using, I also have a Liberty modified Toploader that only has about 20 minutes of street driving time on it. It is really a drag only tranny, but with some care you can take occasional jaunts out onto the street if you're pretty decent at double clutching.

Well, the Lakewood I had my eye on was on ebay, but someone bid it up more than I thought it was worth. I also got the new Fidanza flywheel in the mail today. The Liberty trans is tempting, but I have a regular Toploader in a box that just needs assembling(came out of my '65 notch when a broken driveshaft took out the main case).

1320, what do you want for your Lakewood and what comes with it, if anything? Also, just out of curiosity, what is different about the Liberty?

Well, the deal is, if I were to get rid of it, I'd want to get rid of all of it, but could go minus the tranny and Vert-i-gate shifter. I have the bell, the McLeod SFI aluminum wheel, a six puck, solid hub, bronze metallic disk and a McLeod adjustable Long style pressure plate. The way I feel, I have a whole package in case something comes up unexpected. If I get rid of the bell, then everything else is worthless since its no longer a package. My '65 is a three speed car and I'm keeping the pedals, frame pivot, z-bar and rods.

However, if you had a '89 5-speed coupe, I'd trade for that.

You mean you wouldnt trade for an '89 hatch GT? . Thats alright, I'm in debt and need to sell the '89 to pay it back. At the same time, all those race parts are a little(I mean ALOT) more serious than I'll probably ever need or even want. Thanks for the offer, though.
