I have an 03' Cobra with 2000 Cobra R's on it (18x9.5). What is the largest tire I can put on front & rear without modification? I currently have Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D-3's in 245/40/18 because that's what the Tire Rack guy recommended but they are far too small. Nitto's are more reasonably priced than the Goodyears but if there are other brands you suggest that are reasonably priced and perform well, I'd like to know about those also. So size and brand I'd like some input on. Thanks. :D

If you don't want to go staggered I believe 275/35/18's around will fit nicely and are within close tolerances of stock specs . Goodyear F1 GS-D3's are a solid choice.
Mcnaz, I do want to go staggered, perhaps with a drag radial in the back. I know Nitto has the 555 in a drag radial and it would match the tread of the fronts if I went with Nitto. The Goodyears are a great handling tire but the 275's are $237 a piece and I've got 12,000 on mine and I swapped the rears to the front and they are almost bald and the other 2 may have 4-5k left on them if I am lucky. Too many burnouts, I guess, but fun comes at a price, doesn't it? So, what is the largest rear tire I can put on without modification. Thanks again.

I am running 265/35-18 in the front and 285/35-18 in the rear on my '01 with no clearance issues at all. I have seen several with 295 in the rear. Do a search on this site. I seem to remember several threads about this issue.
