I don't know if there are any racers on this site anymore but Bremerton is open Saturday for TnT and Sunday for bracket racing. These are the last racing days of the season. Gates open at 8:00AM on Saturday. The weather is predicted to be sunny.

AFP in the HIZZOUSE

FE_NUT (Ray) and Jeff are there already and I should be there around 10ish in the morning.

I thought I heard Santa (Vulcan) was planning to be there as well

Looks like its a loooooooong drive up from Portland!

That is a long drvie. Please stop by. I drive an all black '82 GT. I'll probably have my head under the hood as I will be testing and tuning in practice.

wow! So far there's been a car that barrel rolled off the track and over the fence and now a guy testing his transbrake in the pits wrecked his glass bodied car into 2 parked cars...and we haven't even STARTED elimination yet! guess it was worth the trip!

Yep sure is a long drive, we stoped in there before the pinks filming. When we were there a guy in a new T/A lost a T-top and shartered on the track. Anyone know what it cost to be a spectator? Maybe i'll swing up there tomorrow? peace

Spectators were $10 today

This was the only pic I took, the guy with the Volvoish altered looking rod left before I could take a pic. They loaded it on his trailer with a cat. This is the car that ran into a car driving by when he was testing his transbrake. Interesting too is that he hit so hard it swung the back end of his car over far enough to whack his own truck too.

I was there and missed that event completely. I was dealing with my own issues, but they pale in comparison to the trans bake affray. I did hear about the barrel roll. These kinds of events are increasingly common at Bremerton: too much boost, too much nitrous...

Do one of you guys (from Portland area) drive the boosted, 8 second, Mustang?

You mean the darkish blue car? If so, he is local. Actually he is a member of The Ford Drag Team. His name is Derick and he drives his wifes little black notchback with the white hood in CCC.

It was cool to talk to a few of you guys from down south. Nice to put a face with the name.

John, you get your car ripped apart yet?

Yes. Two pistons broken in the same way, just like last time. The thinnest part of the piston-top comes apart on the edge of the valve eyelit right next to the cylinder wall, from the ring up. I thought it was an aberration last time. Looks like it is more the rule than the exception, at least for me. No cylinder head damage but a scratch on one cylinder wall. I don't know if it will hone. I wonder if the machinest is not allowing enough piston clearance. All the damage was on the passenger side. The drivers side looks great, just like before. This will be my last purchase of KB hyper pistons.

Lucky no one was killed on that one. I think about such things happening as I walk through the pits where these guys are revving their cars to who knows what high rpm, wheels spinning on jack stands or just a jack. Not a good place for kids...

Is that the 80's Camaro with two huge dryers coming out of the hood?

By 4, I was home watching football. Sorry I missed you. I was focused on my car issues most of the afternoon. Now I have a winter project.

The Hyperut's need a TON of clearance. What was he giving you?

I remember being in line at PIR for a Friday night race and a kid has his fathers blown challenger out and was in line to get in. He waited for about 5 minutes before he moved and did a big wheelstand in the car.

He got scared and dropped the front and was going too fast and smashed into the rear of the person in front of him. I just don't get some people sometimes as there is plenty of time and space to do these sorts of things at dragstrips in the proper places.
