I have regretfully tossed over 6 grand to a company out of good old Lawrenceville, Ga- a company that has "been in business for 15 years" and is also featured in various mustang mags. In the past he has tagged on as much as a grand to work done on my stangs. That job resulted in him returning my car with a starter that would grind every time the car was started. I let that slide. One year later, pick up a new stang and order an h pipe through his company only to have him overcharge me to install it and then returns the car to me with an exhaust leak at the right header/hpipe area. He was very rude through the whole mess and completely denied any responsibility to fix the car, rather he wanted me to pay again twice the going rate to fix a stripped header bolt. He claims he cares for his customers and stands behind his "quality" work- yet some how this "experienced mustang only" shop has managed to screw up one of the most basic and common mods that people do to their stangs. What kills me is I payed top dollar NOT to deal with the amateur errors that in the end can ruin a simple exhaust swap. He refused to make good in ANY way to help my situation and was very confident that my efforts to discredit his work would not stop his "successfuly business". So my only other option is to warn others not to take their business to Dugan Racing!

Thanks

Thanks for thee words.

How about MV Performance and T&J Performance? Opinions?

Good to know which shops really 'care' about customer satisfaction. I'm new to the area and willing to drive to a good shop for both of my rides. I have some big plans for the 98 and I want to go to the right place the first time.

Thanks!!!!

Only heard good things about MV performance, which is always better than bad things over and over again from the same place...

I had heard good things about both MV Performance and T&J Performance, contacted both about a supercharger install. Got the quote from T&J, MV contacted me about a week later ... I had expressed the need for a quick reply. You snooze you lose. T&J gets the job.

Dropped my car off yesterday, met Tim and his wife. Some of the nicest people you'll meet. I'll let everybody know how the work is when it's done, but I'm not worried about that at all... T&J has yet another loyal customer.

T&J Performance

Dugan sucks a55 Ive delt with him before and he has been nothing but an ahole. The company has actually been sold to trick suspensions and is not run by Tom Dugan anymore but his name is still being used. Man if you ever need any work done to your stang take it to T&J. Tim is a very cool guy to deal with and knows his Sh@t.

That's good to know ... but, MI. Whoah, that's a hell of a commute for some sub-frame connectors and a dyno tune.

I hear nothing but good things about T&J. Higgins Ford Performance over in Douglasville also has some quality folks. Personally, I get all my work done at Team Ford in Marietta. They sponsor our local SVTOA chapter, and they really stand behind their work.

Yes, take the car there for all those. Jeff Harris is an excellent tech and knows his cars!

I have heard nothing but excellent things about T and J Performance and their website is located at www.modularmustangs.net

MV is good also, they are a little slow on the return of phone calls but are okay.

Dugan was better when it was "DUGAN" but they were still overpriced then also!

If you're going to be around next Tuesday (the 6th), you should bring your car by in the evening and stick around for our SVTOA meeting. Team Ford gives us a competitive labor rate and 25% off of Ford OEM parts. You can check out our forums and schedule of events at http://forums.svtoa-atlanta.org.

I, too, was screwed by Dugan. I had them install gears and an aluminum driveshaft and from day one my transmission leaked because of the driveshaft. I drove to their shop 3 times(Roswell to Lawrenceville is a pretty good hoof) and each time they replaced the output shaft seal telling me it wasn't the driveshaft every time. I finally took it to the ford dealership and had them put the stock driveshaft back in and it quit leaking. I was going to try to get my money back but they had gone out of business(I guess temporarily).

A couple of months later, I took the driveshaft to T&J to have them analyze the problem and they showed me how bent it was. I could have easily lost my transmission due to the leaking. Dugans insistance that it wasn't the driveshaft really pissed me off. I'll never recommend them and I'll never go back.

If you want a shop that will stand behind their work and not bull**** you, give T&J Performance a call. They are very busy and sometimes you may have to wait a week or 2 to get in but it is well worth it. I promise you.
