Well, we had a good time. Lines were scooting today. Was looking at my timeslips and except for when I took a break, there was never more than 20 minutes between runs. Most were 10-15 minutes. It was nice to get some practice in. I didn't beat my first time, but I did gain some consistency. I took out my spare and jack, and think that hurt my traction more than helped my ET. I didn't pull any other weight, 'cuz I knew I wouldn't feel like putting the car back together tonight lol. Out of 9 runs, 7 were between 13.5 and 13.7 and between 104 and 105MPH. I had to pooch off the line though. Even with my stock 3.31's, if I didn't, I'd lose traction. It was around 50 degrees out. Didn't get a chance to buy some stickies this year. But I've already got the money set aside to order them for spring. Put a Hurst Comp Plus in this week. I really like that. Aimee did her best so far, 14.2 lol. She's still scared of the car. She's not flooring it. Hopefully the sticky tires will fix that for her, as well. But like I said, it was good to get some practice, and when we have everything we need next year, we should be able to throw down some awesome times. Here's my timeslips a few pics, and a video.

Also thought I'd post a picture of my credit card. I've been with them for a while, but they recently started offering custom cards. For $10, I couldn't pass it up. Matches my custom checks well.

Nice times. The MPH is there! You could easily see low 13's if you get that 60' below 2.0!!!

Nice times Dark,

I'm proud of Aimee as well!!! So long as you both had fun and nothing broke that is all that matters. Like you said, in time, with practice and comfort she'll settle in.

Cars look awesome as always.

I know. With that MPH I should be in low 13's... They just don't prep the track well unless there's something going on besides test & tune, so I have to baby it off the line. My first run was 14.6 because I dropped it from about 2200RPMs and spun through first. So the rest of the day I feathered from about 1500RPMs. Can't wait to get some slicks next spring, along with a few more suspension mods, and go back out. My goal for next year is 12's, and I wanna see if I can do it without any more performance mods. I'll probably need gears, but I'll try.

I was very surprised nothing broke, since we were kind of hot lapping. Whenever I get to the shutdown area and turn the corner to come back on the return road, I have an awefull noise coming from the rear. Sounds like one of those rainsticks. It goes away soon after that, so I'm assuming it's just something getting hot. Drive it 'till it breaks

9 runs got me addicted all over again, though. Spring is a long time away!

You can do it without the gears. Honestly, I wish I'd have kept my 3.55's and netted a 12.9 with those but oh well.

I have a buddy that ran a 13.094 Friday night with 3.55's, Intake & a Brenspeed Tune! (He of course was using my MT DR's) So 12.9 is definitely possible with your setup and some Drag Radials.

When you get some tires you can launch at 5K-6K easily.

That's kind of what I was figuring. I will be going with 3.73's once I reach my goal. I have 3.31's right now, so I definitely need some kind of upgrade. If I had 3.55's I probably wouldn't change. I don't want to go 4.10's though because I may add a blower one day and we already have 4.10's on the 05.

There were similar issues at the local track in Sacramento. The track was poop at best. lol. Hooking what ya' got is key as you know. You can have all the power and torque in the world and if you can't plant it, it's worthless. I'm not baggin' I am empathizing. I KNOW - I KNOW - I have issue hooking the TA - 340 ft lbs with a 10 bolt 7.5 axle and 2.73 gears is just stupid hard and prone to failure, so fear and stupid design = failure.

I need a Mark Williams built unit before I take this turd to the track. Like this beast.

As for the comment on your rear sounding like a rainstick Is this turn you are making a tight right?

Nope, it's a tight left. It does it if I tap the throttle quickly on the way back even if I'm going straight. But, by the time I get my timeslip and back to the pits, it's gone. Like I said, drive it till it breaks. Then I'll replace whatever is broke with something better.

Yeppers. I usually wait until OEM fails. Right now I am... "driving it like I am borrowing it from an authoritarian parent" (way low on cash after the relocation to PA and starting the new job). hahahahha

In any event - decent runs and it is good to see you and the lil' lady enjoyed your time.

Good times Dark
It is fun and spring is too far away I also want to try my hand at road racing next year as our local Mustang Club hosts high performance driving education courses a few times a year.

P.S. In the last part of the video, did Aimee get around that red TA? It looked like it, but stopped before any times were shown.

Yeah, she beat the T/A. It was running mid 14's, and I think that was her 14.2 pass.
