Might be going to the track in a few days. I have the posi/gears in, have added a tranny cooler and new suspension, and pretty much an entire ignition (box, ignitor, wires, coil) since the last time I ran (which I won't tell you how I did because my tranny overheated and decided to stop shifting and a few other reasons).
Anyway, I'm trying to keep up with my brothers 85 Vette (stock except for some turbo mufflers and a throttle body bypass) that ran a 14.7 before those mods (both cars are auto). To get his best times we found we had to stall the converter to about 2000 (i guess thats what the Vette came stock with). I plan on shifting my car manually, though I don't have a tach so I just kinda go by noise. How high should I stall my engine? Should I try to get any wheelspin? Anything else I should know?
Keep in mind my car has these really, really crappy 195 tires in back, so that certainly doesn't help me.
