Launching Help

My mustang is an automatic so i have no takeoff from the line. I have cold air, chip, headers x pipe, mufflers.... and i have no takeoff until about 3000 rpm. I need some tips on how to make my car takeoff a little faster without spendin money. Something i could just go out and do to get a Quicker launch. please help

personally I would dump the 3.55's and go a little lower. AOD's need all the help they can get out of the hole. I have 3.90's on order right now that should be good. a nice set of lower gears could be worth up to a full second in ET. My old hatch went from 15.8 to 14.7 with just the gear swap.

Without buying anything fp, timing, and weight are pretty much the only things you can change to improve your launch. Anything to free up power will help. Gears will really help. They should cost 200 or less to install.

Would setting the idle higher help? Does anybody know how hard it is to install gears? Ive done every modification and install to my car myself, so i wanna do the gears myself but i heard their pretty tough. Off the subject, but what exactly do injectors do? Will they add very much horsepower? And does anybody know anything about the Venom 400? Supposedly it adds up to 25% horsepower and lots of low end torqu but im pretty skeptical about it

know nothing about the venom 400 but bigger injectors are needed when youve got more air flowing through your engine... i.e. bigger maf, throttle body, aftermarket/ported intake/exhaust, bigger heads, a supercharger, etc. because with more air you need more fuel to keep up that a/f ratio and the stock injectors simpy cant flow enough fuel to meet demand

so in short on a stock engine, no, bigger injectors will do nothing for performance or might even hinder it, but with a few air flow mods they definitely will make all the difference

The venom 400 is a flasher or chip of some sort, right?

Dont waste that amount of money.. im guessing its around 400bucks. Spend that on the gears and install. And get a converter so that the gears actually work with the transmission. That right there would be a night and day difference.. comparily to adding a blower..the night and day difference.
