Let the clutch out quickly(not a dump) while holding the rpm's at 2000-2500 rpm(depending on ambient temperature and road/track surface), and floor the gas pedal when tires get traction.

Spinning tires absorbs the punishment, if the tires grab and don't spin off, then some other parts gonna get the brunt of it. Thats all part of racing. You may launch 100 time and nothing happens, but at 101 something may break. You have to pay to play as they say. At a high rpm launch, the drivetrain will get a zolt if the tires don't spin, but the drivetrain seems to be pretty sturdy, but the law of averages says eventually somethings gonna give. You fix it and go on, it's part of drag racing. I haven't trashed nothing on this stang yet, but back when I use to race at Norwalk, I spit out alot of driveshafts, destoryed one ford 8", but never a 9, and exploded a few clutches. It's all apart of the fun hee hee !!!!
I've tried lots of different rpms. It's pretty hard not to spin the tires. I would say 2,000-2,500 yields the best results. I changed gears to 4.10's and it makes it really touchy with the stock tires.
One may be able to launch faster on street tires by slipping the clutch at higher rpm's(Ex.- 3500 rpm). But the downside to that is it requires a lot more clutch slipping, which burns the clutch more than when launching at lower rpm's.
