i just took my 80 out today for a test run and it is wheel hop crazy and i cant launch worth a ****! i am going to take the quad shock mounts off my 84 gt donor, however im going to have to weld the quad shock mounts onto the 80 frame! is the 84 gt hatch the same frame demension and length as the 80 coupe or do i have to pretty much eyeball it??? and if i have to eyeball it how much tention is needed on the shock it self from the fram to the rear end???

dude your probably better off just buying yourself a decent set of control arms first. That a all new control arm bushings should fix the problem. If not, then i guess you could put the quads on it, but instead of band aiding it like ford did, try the control arms first.

++++1, dont bother with quads, they're a waste of time especiallyif you dont eve have the mounts. buy new control arms, they'll fix it.

First off LCA and UCA do not solve wheel hop problems on all cars. My 91 notchback still has minor wheel hop, although they helped considerably!!

You do have to weld them to the 94 and oler frame. My 81 coupe has no bolt holes for them either. you should push them in at least an 1" Don't quote me on that though....I will weld mine into place after I look at my notch and my cobra. I am gonna take them of fand see how much they release that way I know how much to compress them.

ive been hearing alot that uca and lca are not helping that much! im gonna put the quads on for now temporarily untill next year my plans are to tub it and go with a narrowed 9" with ladder bars! i also plan to swap out the 302 with either a built 351w but my buddy says lets go with the 460! what you guys think? to me the 460 just sounds like a bigger headache then a bigger motor!

UCA and LCA's did not solve my wheel hop problems, I put my quad shocks back in and its completely gone, I flipped them so I have no wheel clearance issues and I see no reason to get rid of them. With the shocks flipped you can fit 275 tires back there no problem.
