I was thinking the same thing - also would like to see a pic of the new Lava Red (with Charcoal and Black) interior option? The only place I found a small sample of the Lava Red exterior color is on Edmunds.com, in the area where you can spec out a 2012 model.

On a related note, why is Ford's Web site so lame? It still shows only 2011 model information, and from what I understand you couldn't order a 2011 after mid-December...

I heard they eliminated grey to add lava red. WTF? I've got a grey '11, and everyone that sees it says "ZOMG THAT IS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL COLOR!!!!!1!1!!"

Yes, for 2012 Sterling Grey eliminated and in its place is Lava Red... I like the grey myself!

Agreed. I was going to order a gray '12, but went with Kona Blue instead. I love both colors really, but the gray looks mean.

I, too, would like to see a "real" '12 Mustang in Lava Red (not that photoshopped pic that's circulating the 'net).

Ford needs to update the Mustang site with the 2012s. Especially since they aren't building 2011s anymore. That'd be really nice.

The iPad app has Lava Red in it. But no color looks the same in photos as in person. But it does look good!!

It is VERY dark.
