Leaf Spring Perch Measurement?

I need the correct/exact measurement, center to center, for leaf spring perches on a 68 Coupe. I've been given a good 8" rear from a 66-69 Fairlane (perfect width/wrong perches) and being that my original 8" housing has been messed with/tortured, I can't trust the measurements from it.

I measured an axle housing from a 67' and I came up with 42 3/4". From the center of one perch to the center of the other. I took the measurement from the front of the perches with no pumpkin in the way, so I got a straight shot.
