New member and new classic mustang owner here. I need to change the leaf springs and rebuild the front end. My question is what is the best way to change leaf springs, Dad said floor jack on pumpkin and jack stands under the axle will suffice, but other Mustang owner said no way, jack stand the frame and lower the car onto the jack stands after lifting it because the axle will move. Any suggestions?

welcome,

A jack under the pumpkin.....jack stands under the rear frame rails. Thats the SAFEST way to do it. Actually, id put some jack stands under my rear end and under the frame rails.
