1968 Mustang Convertible

I want new 5 Leafs.

Standard = stock height
Mid-eye = -1"
Reverse-eye = -2"

But that doesnt tell me enough...

It would being a huge help if as many people as possible could tell me what they have and where there car sits...in other words measure from the very center of their wheel to the fender lip. Because that wouldnt be effected by tire size. And if you know how much gas/weight is in the trunk that'll help too.

Thanks so much for a helping hand!

Ryan

I have about 14.25 inches on my 69.

I went from my original (presumably saggy) stock leafs to Maier racing 160lb 5 leafs, MID EYE and it sat about a inch lower than my originals.. I ended up making new shackles with holes about 1 and 1/8 further than the stock ones, which lifted it up almost back to original height.

This is on a 69.

So you're at 14.25" now?

So if you would have left the stock shackles with the new maier 5-leafs mideyes, then you probably would have been at about 13.12-13.25"?

I would guess thats about right. even though I lifted it 1 1/8, the change at the center of the wheel was only like .75 if I remember.. so probably closer to 13.5

All I know with those mid eyes in the back, my rear end was LOWER than the front end which had TCP's coil over setup on it which lowers the front roughly 1.5 inches.. I didnt like the stance at all, even after the shackles.. I have adjusted the coil overs to lower the front end a little more to give it a very very subtle rake and am happy with it now.

theres some pics of the stance here, Pictures by j69302 - Photobucket

I am happy with he stance now.. And those springs with the bilstien shocks made it MUCH better over the stock with KYB gas adjusts. Also the Maier springs have the 5th leaf on the front half of the spring so it acts like a traction bar. The springs alone got rid of all of my wheel hop.

Real sharp 69 man...clean...

13-13.5" would actually be perfect for me in the rear.

Here's what Ive got

Front:225/40R18 - 12.25" hub to lip or 24.25" high ground to lip.
Rear: 245/40R18 -

13-13.5" would put me at 25.5-26" in the Rear....nice tight rake.

Think Im just going to man up and order 195lbs 5 leaf mid eyes @CjPony...funny the leafs are on sale...but the kit with shackles isnt :/

Mustang Depot has some nice "race shackles" which are just extra thick, cad plated shackles. I bought those when I bought my springs but since I made my own I got rid of them.
