After talking with a the owners of Razor's Edge Performance and the guy that is supposed to help install my Meth Inj Kit, it turns out that all are in agreement that I need a leak down test before putting in the kit, since I have some blowby and the dipstick occasionally pops out.

They charge 2.2 hrs at $75/hr. (there goes my MM CHrome C/C plates)

Are there any websites or tech articles that anyone knows of that I can be linked to to read up on this subject?

I dont want to go in there cold-turkey not know what they are doing.

Thanks
RC

To do a leakdown test, you bring whichever piston in the cylinder that you are going to test to TDC on the compression stroke, you can use a skinny screwdriver to touch the piston to feel it go up and down, once it gets to the top stop turning the crank. Then you can either go out and buy the leakdown tester, or just use an air blower for the compressor. To use the blower it'll have to have a rubber nozzle or else it wont work, stick it in the spark plug hole and give it a squeeze then listen to see if you hear air blowing by something. If it pushes your piston down then you probably were not at TDC, but if it pushed it down you probably didnt have any leaks either.

How far does your dipstick pop out? Mine will pop up a tad after a beating drive but it doesn't come up that much.

The meth kit is so simple to install and you should do it yourself.

Thanks...but the guy I referred to in the first post has access to one. He knows how to do it, but says this is a crucial enough test that someone with a lot of experience should be doing it...You dont want to miscalculate a problem with this area.

MIKE: Mine pops out just enough to let some oil spray out...it's not that much. Bob (above post) says that since Ive done so much to the car, I should just get this done to know for sure if Im ok to keep modding.

JR: Im not paying for the Meth kit to be INSTALLED, Bob did his, and he is willing to help me with mine...Im not going to refuse, although I will try to do most of it on my own, with just some moral support from him.

Zack: Thanks to you for your descriptive reply.

Oh...BTW...I may be calling Rick sooner than I thought for an engine if something looks bad with the leak down.

I may just go with a well built 302 to save some money, slap some nice heads and the Vortech back on it, add the Meth kit, and be "satisfied" with the 450+ RWHP that the car would make.
