Leaking trans fluid, is it just the gasket?

My car has been leaking redish oil (trans fluid) it's also an automatic.
Might this problem just be the gasket seal of the tranmission oil pan?

Does anyone know how much labor will be at a transmission shop?
I tried unbolting the bolts myself, and they are near impossible.

Maybe the tailshaft seal?(where the driveshaft goes into the trans.)...the reddish oil would be trans fluid...I'd think that the tailshaft would leak before the pan would. Cake to change, take out the driveshaft, pry the old seal out with a screwdriver or whatever means neccesary, and hammer the new one in. If you were to find that this is your problem, a new seal is sub $10...you can do the work yourself (if you got/can borrow some basic handtools [12mm for the driveshaft,a hammer, screwdriver or small prybar, jack, which you got with your car, and some jack stands for safties sake)...be advised, when you look at the new seal you'll see a black dust shield, and that is exactly what it is, a simple dust shield, open it up and you'll see a garlock seal...rubber with ridges on it and a spring, the spring does the sealing, (applies pressure to the rubber, which is what wears out)...don't worry about the dust shield so much when pounding it in the tailshaft. hope that helps, good luck
