Yesterday my check engine light turned on, on the way to my grandmas. I didnt think toooooo much of it, when I got there i reset the computer. Stayed off till I was goign home, and then it turned back on, I checked the engine over, intake and everything and reset the computer again. Today after driving around a long time it turns back on. I've finally had enough of it. I goto the autoparts store and get the codes pulled. The guy pulled them and as it was doing so he said "OH ****". My heart kinda sunk. He told me Lean Bank 1, and Lean Bank 2.
I go home and pull the front O2 sensors out. They're WHITE!! I spray the contacts with electrical cleaner and put some antiseize on the threads after spraying some carb cleaner on the sensor itself. That put back together, I go and clean the wires in my MAF. This whole time, my negative terminal is off the car, and when I get it all put back together I step on the brake for a whlie to reset it.
I start the car up, it seems to run fine, but I had no problems before. No CEL. I spray aerosol spray around all the couplers on the intake to see any leaks. None were found. I'm stumped guys. I'm 17 and dont have alot of extra cash to waste on this car. I'm fairly mechanical when it comes to cars, but i'm new to this whole mustang scene.
I need help!!
