today my boyfriend & his friend decided to try and move a t.v. to our house in my car, and the t.v. is pretty big & it's half my fault for even thinking that this t.v. would fit in the back of my mustang..

anyways, it ended up horrible. i have like 3 or 4 rips in my leather seat ): so my question was, would it be cheaper to have it sewn up, replace the leather seat, or change my leather to cloth ? i've thought about changing them to cloth since i got the car but i didn't know how expensive it was or if you could even do that.

i just need an opinion/:

I'd look for some take-off leather. You can get that pretty cheap.

I saw some cloth pony seats at a car swap last year. I hope I can find them next time.

My 2010 Mustang came with cloth,I took off the cloth and added leather,so now I have a cloth seat kit, this would be considered cloth take offs. You have to remove the seats from the car and actually disassemble the seat and remove the fabric or leather.I found my leather kit on ebay (take off kit)for $300.I installed it myself but I am a Honda mechanic and deal with upholstry often, most likely you will have to take it to the shop.If you live in Raleigh NC I can replace the damaged leather for you.LOL

BTW,if only your rear seat is damaged you can probably replace the leather yourself, the rear seat leather requires no special tools(hog rings hog ring pliers, etc)you just have clips and velcro, you just have to remove the rear seat from the car which is very simple. The front seats now thats a different story.

There are companies that offer essentially brand new parts taken off new cars that were customized by Saleen, Roush, etc. Those parts are no longer needed and are sold as "take-off" parts.
YOu will find them on e-bay and a variety of other places. Newtakeoff.com has many Mustang and other parts, all like new, for a fraction of the Ford price.

Just curious, what was the color of your original cloth seats?

the take off cloth was a tan/grayish color, not the darker charcoal .I think there were only 2 colors of cloth in the 2010 mustang.

i thought about ordering some from ebay, but ebay worries me sometimes with what it really looks like. i could go to the ford dealership i used to work at & order some then put them in myself. but i really want cloth, i can't stand the leather. in winter it's too cold to sit on, in summer it's too hot to sit on & then it gets all crinkly. and i also need a new center console top. my pitbull decided it was a chew toy one night riding around and now there's teeth marks in it. i found one on a website that had like GT and then Mustang under it but i didn't know if that was tacky or anything, cause i'm not all down for the ricer type look..
