Has anyone tried replacing their taillights with some LED bulbs? I've seen some 19LED bulb capsules for the tails for sale on e-bay at a couple of reputable shops and was wondering if anyone is running those instead of the costly taillight conversions. You can get it all done for 40bucks vs 240 sounds good.

Also since they are supposed to be plug and play would the CDC sequential blinkers work on them too?

not sure if the cheap leds will work and you have to make sure you get the polarity right they will fit either way, but will only work one wayand you need to add loads to them i stated to look into this and then gave up. problem is the mustang system uses the 4017 or something like that bulb and it reads the leds as a blown bulb and makes it flash really fast. But i have not tried this just read about it.

Those are OK for sidemarkers and such, however, the blinkers need some sort of line resistor because otherwise the car thinks the light is still out due to the small draw of the LEDs and will blink really fast.

Not the case from what ive seen but if u are worried about it, they sell all the components to regulate your flash, resistance so there is no quick blink as well.

Switchbacks are in! Look sweet! Work great, no fast blink. They are 60 led 3157's amber/white. I will take some pics now and some more when it gets dark later, also gonna try doing a video, might need some help figuring out how to post it.

www.autolumination.com Tail Light Brake Light Turn Signal LED Bulbs
they sell load equalizers too to replace the factory flasher module to prevent low resistance fast blink from leds when changing the tailights.
Thats where i got my switchbacks didnt need the module for those though but i think u need the module for tailights. They sell the spider led taillights too.

Is it just the camera or do they flash from amber to a bluish color?
I don't think those would last be 3 seconds in TX but they look awesome.

LED tail bulbs aren't bright enough yet. I've had a few of the most expensive / brightest on the market in my Element and they're just too dim. I ultimately cut the back of the housing and glued in led pucks from a semi trailer. Now they're ridiculously bright.
