Dear stang folks

I just replaced balljoints and outer tie rods on my 88 LX.

I thought I did a good job, until I noticed that my left front wheel is sticking out about 2 inches more than my right one.

I pulled the rotor and checked the bearings, everything is as it should be!

I`m thinking now that maybe in the last 20 years that somebody may have used two different sized rotors or spindles.

Any other ideas ?

Thanks

Joe

Get a wheel alignment and the problem will be solved. Any time you change suspension parts it's a must.

Keep in mind too that because the tolerance stack up begins at the front drivers side….all +/- tolerance gets pushed/pulled towards the passenger side. Even with the correct alignment you may notice that your passenger side wheel is pulled in farther than the drivers side. The visual difference gets worse when you swap a wider wheel set.

Thanks millhouse

i pulled the rotor off and checked everything, repacked the bearings and put it all back together.

Looks the same !

Drives pretty straight, even without an alignment.

Go figure, after all it is a ford.
