well in NY....techincally any modification that changes the tone of the exhaust from factory is illegal sound wise...and for emmisions technically he is right....the off-road pipes are obviously illegal because they have no cats....and the pipes with cats are still illegal because they only have 2 cats....technically you need to have the same emmisions equipment as the car did stock...which is 4 cats.....but looking at my mods you can see i dont care lol.....

or "cats". You want the other kind if you have emission
controls in your state. Not illegal like guns or anything. They
are a good mod to do to your car. Full dual system I mean.

thanks I don't have emission standards where I am at right now, but I am in the military so my next base might. And with my luck if I buy off roads I will get orders the next day and have to change them. So I think I will go with cats. Once again thanks for the info
