Hey guys, been awhile but since it's spring now, I decided to pick a nice new project for the coupe...thinking of ditching the underdash handbrake that just irritated me doing the manual conversion in favor of a console mounted type...I know some of you guys have to have done some creative/junkyard setups so let's see what's out there before I go with your standard Lokar setup.

Best,
Dan

My stock parking brake sucks.

I don't really see any other room under the car with my TKO tranny in the way though.

I got mine out of an 85 GT. I'm still working on fabbing it in, but my plans changed to include a 9" rear, so I've had to postpone the e brake until I have the new rear (disc?) brakes figured out.

The hand brake is positioned well behind the transmission, over the driveshaft.

Good topic....

I'm converting to T5 at the moment myself and wondering about that brake handle project. When I had my 87 (5 speed) I rarely used the hand brake. I'm wondering how much of a gamble it is to just leave it out? I don't really leave the car idling without me in it. I just need to be careful where I park and such.
