I've used the NOS-brand "Racing" formula before I was blown and it definitely worked with an overly aggressive N/A tune. However, I also believe that the MMT in that stuff led to contamination of the cats in my MRT H-pipe and subsequent emissions test woes.
I'd go the safe route and get a 91-octane tune instead of relying on octane in a bottle for a blower car...
Isn't it like Nitrous in a plastic bottle? I have used some of it and injector cleaner in the past. I don't make a habit of it but on the occasional long trip I have put a bottle in. Hopefully I did the correct or semi-correct thing here and didn't screw anything up by it. I think I want it to work as well as they say it does, but like MaxPowers said, mixing it together will be an issue.
I've never used anything like that. One time my genius brother-in-law put two different types in his car at once, and melted the guts of the catalytic converters together. I think he had fuel system cleaner and octane booster in his '96 Maxima. Because it needed it
Theres been umpteen tests and reviews on octane boosters over the years. They do mix 100% with with whatever octane you`re using providing you pour the contents of the bottle in first, then fuel up at the pump. They don`t bump up the overall octane rating as much as the manufacturer claims and subsequently rarely make `more power` on a dyno for example.
In general, the octane rating is an indicator of resistance to knocking as the fuel burns more slowly the higher the number. Accordingly, when your computer detects knock, it cuts your timing. Less knock through use of higher octane petrol means the computer won't intervene and essentially you should get more power.
I`d use the octane booster according to the instructions on the bottle if you don`t fancy a remap to run the lower octane fuel
A lot of people use this at the track when they don't want to buy race gas, and when they only run a couple times a year but want to get the max hp out of their tune without worry about detonation. Have not tried it myself though.
