if they are saying your suspension is on Jan 4th then Id say its too late.

90day suspension?

BTW Ive taken the Driver Improvement class twice in person and it sucks. Take it online!

Be glad about the 12 points in 12 months. Here its like 7-8 in 12 months.

I got mine suspended for 3 months and it sucked but Im a better driver now.

+1 on the turn signals and slow down. I drive at MOST 5mph over. Usually I drive under the limit. Once you put enough money in these cars you start to realize how easy it is for it all to be lost. Im not risking my life or my car.

The fun part will be getting insurance after a suspension. Very, very expensive. Try to talk to the traffic judge, he/she may take pitty on you and give you a probation period.

Well, it doesn't look very good for you, especially when your 3 points over the line. I would suggest when you get your lisence back, slow down some and be more carefull. Not only for saftey, but consider this, many serious jobs, even those that do not require driving, are examining your traffic records. Even accidents that are not faulted to you, can be a consideration. Any job where you might get behind the wheel because of anything to do with buisness, will look at this. I used to get a lot of tickets, but I'm 28 and when I was younger, the laws were much more slack. I saw many job oppertunities go past me because of my driving record. Well, I've been pretty clean, only two tickets in the past 7 years. One for 13mph over the speed limit, the other for street racing but got it reduced with 0 points. I now have a CDL, which really puts me in a spotlight. I don't even like driving the Z28 because it attracts too much attention.

And Joe can I still go to the class? or is it too late, ive already paid for all my tickets and the suspension is effective on Jan 4th.

I paid my ticket at at the reduced rate you get when you mark the going to driver school box on the mail in ticket form. Once you pay the ticket, I think you are stuck. I would call the DMV or Highway Patrol and ask.

See http://www.dmvflorida.org/ for some more helpful information

just so you know also you really need to check what happens if you get another one... Back when I was younger I got that letter, I had 12 points but I was just out of the loop by a month, but if i had gotten another ticket within 18 months they would take it for like a year.... So just make sure you find out all the info.

This the same mustang that used to go to the sports authority a few years back? corey? Just curious

just take it online like mentioned before, and chill out alittle until your record starts to clear out. i know a friend of mine got his license suspended for 6 months and the judge granted him some sort of license (can't remember their technical name) just for work and back home.

Heres a little secret at least in Indiana. Over pay you ticket by a few dollars. They will send you a check refunding you for what you over paid, you then rip it up. They cant give you points untill the money is refunded to you. Ive never had a ticket but my brother has had quite a few and hes done this 5 times now and hasnt had one point added.

The first thing is to not get a ticket. I know how well that works, so here's my realistic advice: Get a lawyer. Yes, for a speeding ticket!

You don't want points on your record for many reasons, including higher insurance premiums and lost job opportunities (as mentioned above). I've gotten Careless & Imprudent driving tickets and speeding tickets and gotten a lawyer every time except my first speeding ticket. Sure, it costs some cash, but you'll be spending the extra cash on insurance anyway when you have points - especially when you're young. This way, you hopefully don't get points.

For my Careless driving ticket, my lawyer plea bargained and I had to pay the fine + court costs, driving school (+ driving school costs), and, of course, lawyer fee's and I had 6 months probation. Then, I got another speeding ticket later on after the probation was over and got 6 months probation and all of the fees, but no driving school or driving school fees. While on the 2nd probation, I got another ticket, so I again contacted the lawyer and he plea bargained and I had an additional year of probation added to my original 6 months + the appropriate court, ticket, and lawyer fees. Then, I made it through that, but ended up getting another speeding ticket and contacted a different lawyer (a member of www.ustraffictickets.com) and they got it reduced to a non-moving violation (same as before), pay all the fines (the same as before + lawyer fee's), but NO PROBATION. Then, I went for about 3 years or so and didn't get anything, but recently, I got a ticket for 90 in a 70, so I contacted the lawyer affiliated with www.ustraffictickets.com and I recently had to pay him $125 + $217 for court/ticket fee's, but no points on my record.

It would have been a lot simpler to not get the tickets, but such is life.
