that's was one frigging heavy tent pole I bolted to my car then
GDawg said:Was it CDC? I put mine in and they aren't anything I would depend on.
mransr said:yup, mine is a CDC bar...and it feels like you could hook a rope to it and tow the car with it
jimfitzgerald said:Personally, I would not race a vert without at least a 6-point roll bar.
Badd GT said:yeah i have an 02 coupe & my wifes 03 vert (even with huge custom subframes) still feels sloppy.
i have seen pics of a mustang that rolled with the light bar & it totally worked just like a rollbar...........although i would not trust it.
GDawg said:I can't say I've ever seen my theory tested but it just doesn't look anywhere near as strong as an actual six-point roll bar (this is two point and small and thin and flattened. Doesn't matter where it's flattened cause that the weakest link where it will go wrong first) but I could be wrong. 3,500 lbs of vert with a massive amount of force behind it...
If you have access to pictures I would love for you to post them.
I could be wrong but I wouldn't risk my life on one.
Btw, I had a four point roll bar on my jeep and it was way stronger then this thing. With the jeep roll bar with one person on each side you could not twist it at all, the lightbar with someone on each side you can twist it.

GDawg said:Hmmmm.... maybe... doesn't look like the car got impact behind the windshield or else I would think the door would show some damage. That door and scoop behind the door looks too clean. Too bad we can't see the top of the light bar for impact...
But thanks for the pic...
