Have an 86 notchback looking to buy front light covers and the lens on the back. I want black covers and smoked tail lights.

Anyone have pictures of smokes tailights on a silver notch? If so please post!!!:D

Also where can i buy the front light covers for the 86?

I checked the auto vent shade site, which appears to be taken over by Lund now. They do list headlight covers for 86 mustang, part # 37255. I used to order parts from wal-mart from their avs catalogue. No shipping, just the cost of the part. Might give that a try for the headlight covers.

This place had the headlight covers for $59.95, but no taillight covers either.

Good luck

Didn't headlight/taillight covers sort of die out with the late 80's/early 90's? If not, then they need to, IMHO. Tinted lenses look better than a smoked piece of Lexan Velcro'ed over your stock lenses ... and they're less likely to get you a ticket in some places. :)

headlight covers kick but....only pic I have left from back in 2001 sporting the covers...loved em...LOVED EM...git em.

lol thanks for the opinions guys. i know the covers died out but i want the covers for the front of the headlights for more aerodynamics and i figured heck if i am getting a cover might aswell be black. Personally i like them so to each their own!:nice:

hey idc what year we are in now, black covers look sweet on a 4-eye! gives an aerodynamic look to the nose...

i got mine from a local parts store which has since been taken over by advance auto parts. you can still get them through advance, saves the trouble of ordering online if you just pop in the store, they can often have them the next day.

my 85 GT with the covers that i installed hastily the first day i had my license...the fitment wasnt quite right (my fault) but still looked pretty good. damn the car was dirty here...oh well...i miss this car like crazy!!

Well, on a four-eye, yeah, I can see the advantages of that. But on an Aero-nosed Fox, it's just kind of redundant, IMO. Oh well.

Summit Racing and Jeg's both have lens covers available, IIRC. Might give them a look, too.
