lightning eaton supercharger to stang 4.6

I guess this is a factory eaton supercharger from a lightning f150. will it work on a mustang 4.6? all I know about it is right here. I may be able to get it for only a couple hundred, thought it may make for a fun winter project if it will work. dunno what it will come with exactly.

Please do a search. This subject has been covered dozens of times. The Lightning blower is not going to be an easy fit, no matter how you go about it. Not only will it in now way possible come close to mating up to the stock Mustang intake, but the top fed inlet is really going to cause you some hood clearance issues.

That being said....with the release of the new '99-04 GT Supercharger-less Kit Using a '03/04 Cobra Blower, you can pull it off....but even at that it's still going to cost you a couple grand for the instal kit.

The price went down a little bit, couple months ago was looking into that kit and it was 2,000 clams.

so im assuming if tork techs mani allows you to use an eaton supercharger then there will be no problem bolting a whipple to this manifold?

I supose if you had one handy, but if you're planning to run the set up around the 500fwhp mark, or less, the MP112 would be the better choice.

....and there's always the TVS1900 if you plan on pushing the envelope past that.

Don't get me wrong, the Lyshlom (Whipple) is a nice compressor, and if you've got one handy and the engine internals have been fortified to the point where you can utilize it to its full potential, the go for it.....but don't be fooled into thinking you'll be further ahead going with one of those over the 4th or 5th Generation MP112 if you plan on running moderate boost levels, because you'll be disapointed in the outcome.

That's cool and all....but the question was how to get the Lightning Eaton MP112 on a 4.6L SOHC, not how do I put together a low cost Vortech kit.

You're going from apples to potatoes as far as superchargers go?

Yes but i am trying to save the man money. He would also get better results from the Vortech vs. the inefficient Heaton at the same psi.

You think so?.....do some checking on that "inefficient heaton". With this kit, it’s making as good, if not better numbers than your Vortech at the same boost level. Not only that, but the torque and horsepower figures come on much sooner and are spread across a broader range than the S-Trim to boot. And that’s only with the 4th Generation Eaton MP112 and inlet from an ’03-’04 Cobra. Go with the 5th Generation Magnacharger and Tork Tech inlet that comes with the complete kit and the results are better still! You’ve got to watch it when you throw around big words like efficiency. The S-Trim may produce less heat on the top end, but their "efficiency" levels and airflow movement down low are the pits!

And if you're trying save him some money, why don't you recommend nitrous? Half the cost of either set up and it would put either blower to shame all the way across the board?
