Lightning mass air used for Blow through?

i have wondered this lately also. i could have sworn guys were using lightning maf with centri blowers. i could be imagining it though. i hope they are ok, i feel that they are easier to get and last longer then these aftermarket maf. many of the others seem to blow out quick.

You CAN use an LMAF in blow through - but it will peg sooner - to the tune of maybe 350-375 RWHP. You can help increase that in your turbo setup by having long straight sections of pipe in front of and behind the MAF. Since you are getting an SCT tune anyway, you may as well get a BA 2400 MAF. It too will peg sooner, but at around 475-500 in blow through. Another option - if your tuner will go along with it, is a Diablosport Maf.ia maf extender. They do work, but nort all SCT dealer are comfortable working with them. I think you will end up making more power than you think.

There is no good way to tune around a pegged MAF because it is a hard limit in the EEC. There are temporary band-aids they can use to help - but they should only be used to allow you to drive the car until you get a better MAF - they are very poor long term fixes.

The thing is if you get an LMAF - and I know they are cheap with the injectors - and the dealer gets to tuning it, and it pegs, it won't be so cheap anymore. Then you have to swap to a BA 2400 or a MAF.ia and that means a complete new retune and dynotime. The 375 RWHP is just an guesstimate - you really never know until it gets on the dyno. May take more, may take less.

And another thing to keep in mind with a turbo, you never will be able to get full load on a dyno - even if it is a Mustang dyno. Dynojets would be worse. Sometimes you won't even see near full boost on the dyno. But when you take it on the street or strip, it's a completely different matter - you will see full boost and full load - and if you have a MAF that's fairly close to pegging on the dyno, it WILL peg on the street or strip. We ALWAYS double check our customer's cars on the street. Even if you do get a bigger MAF, I'd advise you to have the dealer do a few WOT blasts on the street to be sure everything is still OK - with a 4R70W he will have to set shift points on the road anyway because that can't be done on the dyno.

All the meters will be about the same - Justin is a good guy and knows his stuff - so you may as well get the meter from him. There really are no 'deals' on those meters because there isn't much of a margin on them. The MAF.ia is cheaper, but Justin doesn't sell those.
